Cherie Blair Foundation selects to promote ‘HerVenture’ mobile app for Women in South Africa and Nigeria

Flow Communications has been appointed by the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women to promote the HerVenture mobile application in South Africa and Nigeria.

Cherie Blair, a committed campaigner for women’s rights and wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, founded the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women in 2008. It is dedicated to creating a future where women worldwide have equal economic opportunities to thrive. Together with its partners globally, the foundation empowers women in low- and middle-income countries to start, sustain and grow successful enterprises, breaking through gendered barriers to reach their potential.

The free HerVenture app is tailor-made to support women entrepreneurs in micro and small enterprises across all sectors. This award-winning app offers essential business training and support on the go, fitting seamlessly into women's busy lives. With a variety of learning tracks covering topics such as launching a business, accessing finance, market expansion, e-commerce and mobile money, HerVenture provides invaluable resources for women on their entrepreneurial journeys.

The foundation developed the application as a zero-rated (once downloaded, the app can operate offline) solution in response to African markets’ mobile phone usage habits and the challenge of high data costs, ensuring seamless functionality even when there is no internet connection..

Flow, an award-winning communications agency with a global presence, brings its extensive expertise to this partnership. Specialising in providing customised communications and marketing solutions to a wide range of organisations spanning the private, non-profit and public sectors, Flow has a proven track record of delivering impactful campaigns across Africa, Europe and North America.

“At Flow, we are honoured to implement meaningful communications solutions that really do make a difference in people’s lives. In Africa, we know the pressures that are placed on entrepreneurs, yet we look to them to grow the economy. The HerVenture application delivers real guidance to women who will be driving job creation in the next few years,” says Tara Turkington, CEO of Flow Communications.

“Throughout the pitch process with the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, it was evident that our values and purpose align perfectly with those of the foundation and we are overjoyed to be able to work with them to spread the benefits of this app to thousands more African women.
