PRCA Africa expands Sustainability Committee expertise
The Public Relations and Communications Association has appointed Adam Hunter, Kirtanya Maharaj and Nabiella de Beer to its PRCA Africa Sustainability Committee, expanding the group’s expertise across climate communication, conservation and purpose-led storytelling.
The appointments are intended to strengthen the Committee’s ability to support communications professionals across Africa with credible, science-aligned guidance on sustainability and environmental issues.
New expertise joins PRCA Africa committee
Adam Hunter, Managing Director of Hook, Line & Sinker, joins following work with the United Nations Development Programme on global climate initiatives including #ClimateCounts and WeatherKids. His experience spans narrative strategy, youth climate engagement and data-driven climate communication.
Kirtanya Maharaj, Manager of WWF-SASSI at the World Wide Fund for Nature South Africa, brings experience across biodiversity conservation, sustainable consumption, science communication, conservation education and community-based sustainability programmes.
Integrated communications and purpose-led strategy
Nabiella de Beer, Head of PR at Havas Red, adds expertise in integrated communications, purpose-led brand strategy and audience insight, supporting organisations in translating sustainability commitments into clear and credible narratives.

The new members join an established Sustainability Committee that includes Karena Crerar, CEO of Edelman; Sarah Gooding, Managing Director of WE Communications; and Laurent Potage, Chief Communication and Sustainability Executive at Alteo Limited.
Together, the expanded committee will support PRCA Africa’s work to promote responsible, transparent and impactful sustainability communication across the continent.
