PRCA and Melville Mental Solutions partner to promote mental health resilience in the PR industry
The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) has announced a new partnership with Melville Mental Solutions (MMS) aimed at advancing mental health services and awareness within the PR industry.
This collaboration represents a significant step forward in addressing the mental health challenges faced by PR professionals and fostering a more supportive and resilient industry culture.
A PRCA Workplace Mental Wellbeing Audit conducted in 2022 revealed alarming statistics about mental health in the PR industry. The report found that 91% of PR professionals have experienced poor mental health at some point in the past year, compared to the national average of 41%. This compelling statistic underscores the urgency of addressing mental health issues within the PR profession.
This partnership will yield a range of educational opportunities for PR professionals, including articles and podcasts produced by MMS, hosted on PRCA's digital platforms. Additionally, MMS will curate the PRCA Mental Health Toolkit, a comprehensive library of resources accessible to the PRCA community. The toolkit will provide relevant links to external content, including contributions from sponsors and partners.
PRCA and MMS are committed to enhancing awareness, education, and support related to mental health within the PR industry. Their shared dedication extends to conducting further research, organising bespoke in-house workshops, and planning events that promote mental health awareness.
